"Tara Reid has checked herself into Promises Treatment Center. We appreciate your respect TO her AND her family's privacy at this time," THE actress's rep Jack Ketsoyan told People magazine on Saturday.

Ketsoyan would not satisfy our nosy curiosity AND reveal what exactly Reid is being treated for: alcohol, drugs or a combination of THE two.

A friend of Tara revealed that she actually checked in TO Promises on Tuesday after what was presumably a wild weekend. THE celebrity rehab center is a busy place.

"Her friends AND family are supportive of her decision," said THE friend. "She checked IN herself -- it was her decision."

Reid is a notorious party girl who made a career out of her reputation, even hosting her own party travel show on E! She kept a straight face IN October when she told People that she was merely a ¡°social drinker¡± who merely liked TO imbibe IN an occasional glass of wine with friends.

When asked by THE mag if she was ever tempted into falling back into THE party habits of her twenties -- much of which was captured by paparazzi while she flashed various bits of her pieces --? she replied, "No. I've done it. Trust me. I've done enough for a lifetime of everything. I've had a great time. I partied. I had fun. I ate AND drank whatever. I dated a million guys, but I'm so happy with where I'm at right now. I don't need TO do anything anymore."

Anything, that is, except whatever sent her into Promises rehab.
