During THE documentary film "Gimme Shelter," THE Rolling Stones chronicled what they thought was their answer TO Woodstock. Who knew, until a BBC series that premieres tonight, it would also serve TO launch an assassination plot against Mick Jagger.
BBC Radio 4 is reporting IN its series "The FBI at 100" that not only was that concert historic because OF it's anti-Woodstock murder OF 18-year-old Meredith Hunter right IN front of THE stage. All OF this is documented IN the film.
During this special it is announced that THE violence was not solely directed at hippies. Hells Angels were reportedly plotting TO kill THE Stones singer after THE biker group was fingered IN the responsibility for THE death AND violence that occurred at THE Bay Area racetrack IN 1969.
After THE film arrived, Hells Angels did not feel they were adequately portrayed AND decided TO seek vengeance against Jagger. THE plot was TO track THE singer down at his Hamptons, New York home AND execute him.
The ensuing attack by sea TO avoid front door security OF Jagger's mansion was stifled by a violent storm sending THE entire boat full OF Hell's Angels into THE water. Any future plans were obviously scratched.
