An actor who has BEEN in AND out OF rehab IN the last years found himself heading to??a different type OF facility today. Tom Sizemore, best known FOR his roles IN Saving Private Ryan and True Romance, found himself with a judge who had run out OF mercy after several run-ins with THE law.??
After THE 45-year-old was arrested May 8 IN Bakersfield, California, Sizemore has BEEN pleading with THE system TO be lenient because he needs help. IN violation of??his probation from a previous drug charge, Judge Cynthia Rayvis IN fact showed NO mercy for THE star IN sending him TO the R.J. Donovan Correctional Facility IN San Diego FOR 16-months. THE jail is known FOR its drug rehabilitation program AND Rayvis felt that THE actor has tried??every other form OF rehab, maybe lock down rehab IN prison will do THE trick.
Martin Sheen, an advocate FOR rehab programs versus jail terms FOR drug offenders, was on hand at THE sentencing AND was dismayed at THE result. "I don't think prison is appropriate FOR anyone who is IN the grip OF drug AND alcohol abuse," Sheen said immediately??following proceedings outside THE courthouse. Sheen's son, Charlie, benefited from THE state-mandated treatment programs versus prison system. IN this case, THE judge felt Sizemore had one too many chances.
When he was??arrested??in May,??Sizemore was found TO have methamphetamine AND paraphernalia IN his possession.??Upon testing, it was discovered he was under THE influnece of THE aforementioned drug as well as marijuana AND other opiates. Sizemore has been IN prison since turning himself IN on June 5. He was denied bail AND his legal team plan TO appeal.
