An avalanche of films storm through theaters from late May through THE end of August AND before THE calendar reads September, over 100 movies will have made their way across THE nation¡¯s cineplexes.

The 2008 SheKnows Summer Movie Guide is here TO help disseminate THE warmer weather¡¯s films. We¡¯ve got our eye on not only THE big budget films that everyone is watching, but THE smaller films all with THE potential TO be this summer¡¯s ¡°Little Miss Sunshine.¡±

It¡¯s hard not TO notice THE summer movie marketing machine. Opening earlier IN May was THE summer-like ¡°Iron Man.¡± THE Gwyneth Paltrow AND Robert Downey, Jr. starring film announced TO the world that THE big-budget epics were on their way as it took over $100 million IN its first three days.

SheKnows breaks down THE summer films IN three installments, mirroring any summer movie hit trilogy.

The 2008 SheKnows Summer Movie Guide: Part One stars THE movies of May AND June. Those debuting IN May may prove TO be THE most popular of THE entire summer. Of course, there is NO avoiding ¡°Sex AND the City: THE Movie¡± AND our SheKnows countdown TO the film¡¯s May 30 opening. But also shooting across screens this month is THE long anticipated Indiana Jones AND Narnia sequels.

July AND August films each get their own in-depth preview IN the week before THE month begins, so stay tuned for Part Two AND Three.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
British actor Ben Barnes has BEEN given THE task of carrying this franchise into its next chapter. Based on THE wildly successful series of books, ¡°The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian¡± arrives IN theaters TO an audience that spent $292 million on ¡°The Lion, THE Witch AND the Wardrobe¡± IN 2005.

The action picks up a millennia later (where else?) IN Narnia where Barnes¡¯ Caspian is leading a rebellion. Inherent IN its revolutionary storyline, this installment is much darker than THE previous.

How THE Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer
The story of three generation of Mexican-American women who find that through their unity there is little they can¡¯t accomplish.

Written AND directed by Georgina Garcia Riedel, this comedy follows THE Garcia girls, Elizabeth Pena, America Ferrara AND Lucy Gallardo as THE three generations.

In THE first of two films coming out this summer, ¡°Ugly Betty¡± star Ferrara portrays THE teenager IN the family whose mother Rosa, (Pena) is so frustrated with her love life she begins TO hit on her best friend¡¯s husband. By THE way, he has problems with fidelity. Ferrara¡¯s character has her own problems with THE opposite sex as she finds THE guys IN her hometown repulsive AND begins TO allow her eyes TO roam beyond THE city limits.

Meanwhile, THE family¡¯s matriarch, routinely shames her daughter (Pena) by refusing TO mellow out AND chill on her way TO the sunset. Living more like her daughter than her mother, Pena¡¯s character has it coming from all sides IN the summer that is sure TO provide its share of heat.

"How THE Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer" could BE one of those films that captures a following at THE beginning of May AND finds itself THE sleeper hit of THE summer IN August.

Sangre de Mi Sangre
Another Latin-themed film arrives on THE same day on ¡°Garcia¡± AND that is where these two film¡¯s comparisons begin AND end. An immigration saga that captures THE sentiment of a nation as THE backdrop TO a story of THE real people who are living THE issues discussed on THE nightly news.

The film won top honors at Sundance this year AND opens nation-wide with THE highest of expectations.
